Having taken stick for 'shifting' the highly rated Fraser Forster to Celtic and bringing in Rob Elliot, Pardew says he has proved he did the right thing.
Alan Pardew: "Rob Elliot starred in last week’s goalless draw against Maritimo in the Europa League, and he has proved he’s good enough to play for Newcastle.
“I’m glad of that – I think he’s come in for a bit of criticism over one game at Nottingham Forest.
“That was actually unfair in my opinion. He’s been brilliant in training, and he’s showed that in these games.
“I’m absolutely delighted for him.
“The Tim injury has turned into a positive for us.
“Harps played brilliantly in the last couple of games, and Rob played two games and did brilliantly as well.
“That situation has been resolved. There’s no doubt we’ve got three great goalies here.”
