Newcastle United have reportedly made an offer to Marseille to sign France international Loic Remy.

Marseille are experiencing financial difficulty, and speculation is growing over a potential summer transfer to the Premier League.

The French club have placed a £15 million price tag on the striker, whose contract expires at the end of next season.

But Arsenal and Tottenham are also reportedly interested.

Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has admitted the club must sell before they can buy this summer.

Loic Remy: "I am contracted to Marseille but if the club wants to sell me, there is not much I can do about it.

"The transfer window closes on August 31, so there is plenty of time [for something to happen]."
