Remy - A QPR Disaster!

Striker Loic Remy could be forced to remain in Championship after little interest shown by other clubs ... and he has a rape case hanging over his head!

The London club are struggling to find potential suitors for the striker, and Newcastle told them they had no interest at all in a player with one ambition in his career - to make as much money as possible.

Remy joined QPR from Marseille for £8 million during the previous January transfer window. He showed glimpses of his ability but also struggled with injuries and he was unable to prevent his side from suffering relegation from the Premier League.

The likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham have been linked with his services in recent months but it now appears that all three have gone cold on the idea.

Remy has a £6.8 million minimum fee release clause in his contract which would allow him to be signed with minimum hassle but it seems even that is failing to entice any Premier League clubs into making a bid.

One factor in the lack of interest may be the criminal proceedings currently being brought against Remy. He was accused of rape in May but has been granted bail until September. Remy denies the allegation.

The player himself is keen to move away from QPR as he believes the Championship to be below his level but he may not have much choice if there continues to be a lack of interest in his signature.
