Peter Lovenkrands netted against his former club but he could not stop Rangers securing a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Newcastle at Ibrox.
Goals from Kenny Miller and Steven Naismith put Rangers in the driving seat before Lovenkrands netted with his first touch after coming off the bench.
