Ranger ready for Toon chance

Newcastle United teenager Nile Ranger has revealed his excitement at the prospect of featuring for Alan Shearer's side this season. Shearer gave his public backing to the young duo of Ranger and Andy Carroll during the week, going on to suggest that Ranger could soon be given the chance to make the same impact that his older rival had from the bench last week. Ranger has already bagged 22 goals for the Newcastle reserve and academy sides this season, and the 17-year-old is sure that if his chance came with the senior team at Spurs on Sunday then he would give nothing but his all for the Magpies cause. "It would be amazing to get on the pitch - I would not stop running!" the former Southampton trainee told the Evening Chronicle. "It would be a great buzz. Hopefully, I can get on the pitch this season. "If I get the chance, I just have to go out there and take it - and if that is at Spurs so be it."
