Sunday's Barclays Premier League action kicks off with a clash between two of this season's promoted sides from the Championship. West Brom play host to Newcastle with both sides looking for a win that would keep them within touch of a European place. Follow Sportsmail's live coverage where you can send your emails regarding the action to me at dan.ripley@dailymail.co.uk[LNB], West Brom 3-1 Newcastle (1.30pm)West Brom: Carson, Jara, Scharner, Tamas, Cech, Tchoyi, Morrison (Reid 85), Dorrans, Thomas (Barnes 78), Brunt, Odemwingie.Subs: Myhill, Pablo, Shorey, Fortune, Cox.[LNB]Goals: Tchoyi 32, Odemwingie 71 89.Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Campbell, Jose Enrique, Routledge (Ranger 74), Guthrie (Smith 73), Tiote, Gutierrez, Carroll, Ameobi (Lovenkrands 46). Subs: Soderberg, Perch, Best, Kadar.[LNB]Goals: Lovenkrands 90.Referee: Mike Dean (Wirral) [LNB]15.30: For Newcastle they are pushed into the bottom half and fall to 11th.[LNB]Chris Hughton will be getting concerned about his side continued bad form in the league with now no win in five games.[LNB]That's not it for the Premier League today as if you click here you can follow Sportsmail's live coverage of Sunderland v West Ham, and that is one game I would not like to predict![LNB]If that isn't for you then thank you following coverage of this match and I hope you enjoy the remainder of your weekend.[LNB]15.24: Newcastle not at the races but West Brom continue their revival in the league and find themselves sitting in seventh place and just four points behind Tottenham in fifth.[LNB]Full-time: West Brom 3-1 Newcastle[LNB]90+2min: GOAL! West Brom 3-1 NEWCASTLE[LNB]Too little too late but Roberto Di Matteo will be disappointed his side has not kept a clean sheet. A ball in the box falls for Carroll whose shot is brilliantly saved by Carson but Peter Lovenkrands is on hand to tap in the rebound.[LNB]90min: Four minutes added on due to that Guthrie injury.[LNB]89min: GOAL! WEST BROM 3-0 Newcastle[LNB]Catastrophic defending from Newcastle, Peter Odemwingie beats an offside trap to latch onto a through ball before taking it past Krul and despite Taylor's best efforts into the back of the net. Game over.[LNB]87min: Bill from Sky heading for the letter box of Guiterrez who takes out his frustration on conceding a corner by kicking a microphone. Slightly amusing anyway.[LNB]85min: Steven Reid replaces Morrison for the Baggies.[LNB]84min: Slightly harsh yellow card for Mr 500 as Capmbell goes into the book for doing little more than stand his ground against Barnes. You don't need me to tell you who bounced off who there.[LNB]83min: But they must be wary of the counter. Brunt finds Odemwingie with an excellent long ball on the counter but with Barnes and Morrison taking time to join him in attack, Newcastle get players back before the Nigerian lays the ball back to Morrison whose shot is deflected away from goal.[LNB]82min: About 10 minutes for Newcastle to save this, they are still in with a shout. They score now and they have the firepower to get a second.[LNB]79min: BIG chance from Lovenkrands, a bouncing ball over the top is all his to latch onto and fire in on goal, but he gets the half volley well wrong inside the box and only kicks at thin air. Carson would have had his work cut out to save that.[LNB]78min: First sub from West Brom as Giles Barnes comes on for the impressive Thomas, he gets a good round of applause as he leaves the field.[LNB]75min: Smith's first action is to pile into Thomas with a late sliding challenge and get booked.[LNB]73min: Guthrie has still not got up from that slip and he looks seriously injured as he goes off on a stretcher to be replaced by Alan Smith.[LNB]It's a double sub as Nile Ranger replaces Routledge.[LNB] Through the legs: Odemwingie doubles West Brom's lead[LNB]71min: GOAL! WEST BROM 2-0 Newcastle[LNB]Just as well Peter Odemwingie buries this, if he missed he would have been under fire from his teammates and his manager! [LNB]Guthrie makes a terrible mistake by slipping in the centre circle and after the Nigerian takes control he ignores all his teammates as he continues to run towards goal under pressure from two Newcastle players before firing across goal and into the corner.[LNB]To be fair it was very selfish but whose to complain when he finds the back of the net.[LNB]69min: Nice move that, Thomas does well to hold the ball up and bring his teammates into play down the left and after laying the ball back to Cech, the fullback picks out Morrison on the edge of the box whose snap shot flies wide of Krul at the near post.[LNB]68min: Hughton will at least be pleased with his side's second half improvement. They have been much more at the races this half.[LNB]65min: Newcastle knocking on the door, Gutierrez's cross is bound for Carroll to tap in but Carson gets an ever so slight touch as he reaches out to just divert the direction of the ball behind the Newcastle striker.[LNB]63min: What is going on with Carson's kicking? He can't seem to pick out a teammate at all today and most of his punts have gone out for a throw in or straight to a Newcastle player.[LNB]62min: Crunching tackle from Guthrie but it's late and nowhere near the ball as he becomes the third Newcastle player booked.[LNB]59min: Desperate on the line defending from West Brom, Guiterrez breaks down the left and after his angle dramatically decreases as he closes in on goal gets a lucky deflection from a shot that looks goal bound, before Marek Cech sticks out an outstretched leg to clear it off the line.[LNB]58min: The full-back is slightly justified when the eventual cross from the free-kick is easily plucked out the air by Krul.[LNB] Familiar faces: Baggies fans Adrian Chiles (left) and Frank Skinner were in attendance at the Hawthorns[LNB]57min: That is very silly from Jose Enrique, Tchoyi shows him a clean pair of heels on the Newcastle byline and he blatantly pulls back on his shirt to stop him getting a cross in. He is booked and the Baggies have a free-kick in a dangerous area.[LNB]55min: Poor awareness from Carroll, he skates to the edge of the box on the left but under pressure he elects to shoot wide across goal rather than a lay the ball in for a waiting Lovenkrands. The Dane very frustrated.[LNB]52min: West Brom go straight down the other end and win a corner.[LNB]Krul comes to claim and misses completely but is spared his blushes when an unmarked Scharner's attempted volley at the far post flies miles over.[LNB]51min: From that free-kick Newcastle continue to attack and a Routledge cross from out right is headed powerfully by Taylor in the box who forces a fine parry from Carson.[LNB]50min: There is that Newcastle counter from the corner, Guthrie is clouted by Graham Dorrans 35 yards out though and it's a promising free-kick for Newcastle.[LNB]48min: Big relief from Taylor he heads a West Brom cross backwards with it looping well over Krul and just over the bar, West Brom corner.[LNB]46min: Newcastle win a corner in the first minute but it fails to beat the first man. Set-pieces today - garbage.[LNB]Second-half: Up and running at the Hawthorns.[LNB]14.31: Chris Hughton has made a change as both teams arrive back out.[LNB]Peter Lovenkrands is on for Shola Ameobi who was virtually invisible in that first half.[LNB]14.29: I can't resist the urge to bring out this cliche either. 1-0 is NEVER a safe lead.[LNB]14.27: And for Newcastle to become the second they are going to have to wake up in the next period.[LNB]Their passing (when they have the ball) has lacked conviction and they need to speed it up too.[LNB]The Baggies have looked vulnerable to the counter attack at times though so there is hope for the Toon Army yet.[LNB]14.24: Top stat this from InfoStradaLive:[LNB]West Bromwich Albion's only Premier League home defeat after leading at half time was against Arsenal on 26 December 2002.[LNB]14.17: Carson's long punt upfield is the cue for Mike Dean to blow for the end of first half proceedings and West Brom are well on course to record their first Premier League victory over Newcastle.[LNB] Held back: Guthrie (left) and Morrison battle for the ball[LNB]Half-time: West Brom 1-0 Newcastle[LNB]45+1min: One minute added on.[LNB]45min: Ah what a waste! Newcastle win a free-kick in a promising position out wide on the left but Danny Guthrie's in-swinger is neither a shot or a cross as it goes high and wide.[LNB]44min: Some good unexpected Newcastle pressure there. It's not as quick as the home side but it produces a fine cross from Routledge that is well plucked out by Carson, with Carroll waiting to nod it in.[LNB]42min: The latest passing move ends with a shot on target, with Jerome Thomas feeding James Morrison who from outside the box shoots across goal which just lacks any venom to trouble Krul.[LNB]41min: Chris Hughton will be desperately  praying for half-time to come. The game has reverted to how it was in the first half, with the Baggies passing their way through the Newcastle team.[LNB]39min: Our friends at Opta have produced a stat which reflects on just how crucial Brunt is to the side.[LNB]Of the last 12 Premier League goals from WBA that have had an assist, Chris Brunt is responsible for seven of them.[LNB]37min: West Brom still going forward, Tchoyi again is on the scene as he produces a skillful turn before from a very tight angle firing a powerful effort that Krul can only block out for a corner.[LNB]34min: Captain Controversy is on the scene with that goal. Odemwingie is in an offside position as Tchoyi lets fly  and he does seem to be in the eye-line of Krul.[LNB]Another bad day for the worlds most ridiculous offside rule.[LNB] Through the eye of a needle: Tchoyi curled his effort through a crowd of bodies to put West Brom in front[LNB]32min: GOAL! WEST BROM 1-0 Newcastle[LNB]Terrific goal. Chris Brunt gets his umpteenth assist of the season as he lays the ball to Somen Tchoyi in the box.[LNB]The chance looks to have gone as he checks for a moment but after knocking the ball to the left to make an angle, curls it around three Newcastle players and Tim Krul into the far corner.[LNB]29min: Yet strangely we still have not had a serious shot on target, been a strange game like that.[LNB]27min: Newcastle have arrived in this match, this contest is much more even now and it's becoming stretched as both midfields start to make mistakes. Trust me there is goals in this one.[LNB]24min: First corner for Newcastle and it produces a chance as Campbell's header falls for Gutierrez whose overhead kick effort lands at Steven Taylor eight yards. But his turn and swivel shot lacks any power to trouble Scott Carson who takes comfortably.[LNB]Aerial battle: Scharner (right) and Carroll tussled often in the air in the first half[LNB]21min: Big error from Campbell and it nearly costs his side a goal. His poor attempt of  clearance rebounds of Tchoyi and falls into the path of Peter Odemwingie who under pressure entering the penalty area fires his low effort wide across goal.[LNB]20min: First booking goes to Jonas Gutierrez who out of position high up the field chases back a West Brom counter to cynically pull back on Gonzalo Jara's shirt.[LNB]18min: This is going to get messy, Carroll leaps in for a header with Scharner leading with his arm and it seems to have slightly hurt the Austrian.[LNB]In the first minute there was a similar challenge the other way round, a developing battle that one.[LNB]16min: Finally some stats and West Brom have had 73 per cent possession in the opening 15 minutes. Honestly it looks only set to increase.[LNB]14min: Very slippery surface, Krul has already gave away a corner through unintentionally sliding the ball out  while Gabriel Tamas slips on the Newcastle byline as he attempts a cross. Good for you slapstick fans out there.[LNB]12min: There is the first effort, a Brunt corner is only deflected by Campbell who can only help it towards the far post for Paul Scharner who volleys over. A chance but a difficult one.[LNB] Hands off: Newcastle's Wayne Routledge fends off a challenge from Jerome Thomas[LNB]10min: I would love to see the possession stats, West Brom are passing it about all over the field and Newcastle just can't get a touch.[LNB]The Baggies though can't get a shot.[LNB]9min: The old man Campbell is keeping it steady at the back for Newcastle, he has been on the end of a few clearances now as West Brom continue to attack.[LNB]7min: Poor delivery though as Chris Brunt's in-swinger is cleared at the near post.[LNB]6min: First corner to West Brom, Somen Tchoui has looked sharp on the wing and he wins a corner off an under pressure Newcastle defence.[LNB]4min: They impress me West Brom, Roberto Di Matteo has them playing some lovely stuff mixing the short and long and Newcastle are slightly on the back foot. No chances yet.[LNB]2min: Quick fiery start, both sides looking to attack from the off.[LNB]Kick-off: We are underway...[LNB]13.28: Obviously not the Newcastle fans who with their tops off can't feel a thing.[LNB]I do feel sorry for them in the summer how do you go further? (Don't answer that)[LNB]13.27: It's still a very chilly day in the Midlands. the Hawthorns is the highest Premier League ground in the country so naturally many people wrapped up in many layers in the stands.[LNB]13.24: This fixture does not favour West Brom, they have yet to beat Newcastle in four attempts at the Hawthorns. Bad omens.[LNB]13.21: Conditions looking good at the Hawthorns no threat of snow around the ground, all in all good prospects of a fine game.[LNB]13.18: In fact he will become just the fourth player to hit the 500 mark behind David James, Gary Speed and Ryan Giggs.[LNB]He along with the latter are the only players to have played in every Premier League season.[LNB]13.15: Seeing as big scores and England are combining in a certain other sport down under, it seems fitting that this game will mark the moment Sol Campbell hits 500 not out on his Premier League career.[LNB]He has gone close a couple of times on ending his innings but he looks to be going on for a while yet.[LNB]13.12: Regardless of their league position and form, both sides have exceeded many people's expectations of them so far.[LNB]Baggies fans in particular will be particularly glad they look settled this season, having been involved in a relegation fight in every season in the top flight thus far. That can't be good for your average fan's heart.[LNB]13.09: West Brom make one enforced change from their last Barclays Premier League outing at Everton for the home clash with Newcastle.[LNB]Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu is ruled out through suspension and replaced by Somen Tchoyi who scored after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 win at Goodison Park.[LNB]Newcastle rely on the side which had shared the spoils with Chelsea last weekend.[LNB]Midfielder Joey Barton has served a three-game ban but is ruled out with a knock suffered in training.[LNB]Defender Sol Campbell is making his 500th Premier League appearance.[LNB]13.06: Not much separates these teams in the table, Newcastle sit mid-table in 10th but although West Brom are in 13th they are only behind the Toon Army due to their inferior goal difference. Very tight in the mid-table.[LNB]13.02: From the Hawthorns:[LNB]West Brom v NewcastleWest Brom: Carson, Jara, Scharner, Tamas, Cech, Tchoyi, Morrison, Dorrans, Thomas, Brunt, Odemwingie. Subs: Myhill, Pablo, Barnes, Reid, Shorey, Fortune, Cox.Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Campbell, Jose Enrique, Routledge, Guthrie, Tiote, Gutierrez, Carroll, Ameobi. Subs: Soderberg, Lovenkrands, Perch, Smith, Best, Kadar, Ranger.Referee: Mike Dean (Wirral)[LNB]13.00: Not exactly the two form sides in the league right now but such is the inconsistencies in this season's table, a win for either team will fire them into seventh place and well in the hunt for Europe.[LNB]Inconsistency is also the key word for both sides. Newcastle have not won since beating Arsenal at the Emirates five games ago, while the Baggies ended a wretched run by thumping Everton 4-1 last weekend only to then crash to a shock defeat at Ipswich in the Carling Cup.
