Predictable Hughton Needs A Plan 'B'
Another home game against 'C list opposition' and the same 4-5-1 cautious formation. And this "let's give them respect' attitude from Chris Hughton is starting to wear thin. Personally I thing the tactics are too predictable. It's the same system home and away, and obviously it works on our travels because we can throw bodies into midfield and try and stifle the midfield. It frustrates the home side, and that is how we are getting results. But at home, the Premiership blue-print most clubs use - LET'S FRIGHTEN THE SHIT OUT OF THEM FROM THE KICK-OFF - hasn't been tried by Hughton in recent games (although that was rock our castle was built on last season). Last season we hit Blackpool so hard in the opening 20 minutes they were quaking in their boots. This season we went about them giving them Premiership-quality respect. We are now a PREMIERSHIP side, so let the other buggers respect US, and give them both barrels of the St James' Park 'experience'! Come on Hughton, scrap your boring 'stand off and cross your fingers' tactics at home with poor Andy Carroll fighting alone against four defenders. Give the bastards something to think about!
