After being part of the furniture for 15 years, the Newcastle United lettering was removed from the East Stand last month during a revamp and replaced with Mike Ashley's shop logo.

The club’s official charity, the Newcastle United Foundation, is auctioning the letters on eBay from tomorrow.

Kate Bradley, head of the Newcastle United Foundation, said supporters could bid for individual letters or try and win the full set.

Kate Bradley: “Chronicle readers and Newcastle United fans really got behind the foundation when we auctioned the players’ old kit at the end of last season and helped us raise £7,000.

“With 15 letters up for grabs, this time around fans have the chance to buy a unique piece of Newcastle United memorabilia while supporting our charity.”
