Pardew's Greatest Achievement ...

17 May 2012 13:12
We qualified for Europe, but Alan Pardew's greatest achievement this season was ...

... keeping his job!

He kept Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias in the background - and off the front pages (well, almost!) - and that in itself deserves 'Manager Of The Year'.

Since AZ Alkmaar knocked us out of the UEFA Cup in March 2007, the NUFC manager's chair has had a hammering.

Glenn Roeder was the gaffa at the time of that Alkmaar fixture, but since his departure, we have had an amazing NINE managers (in some shape or form) in five years.

Nigel PearsonSam Allardyce  Nigel Pearson Kevin Keegan  Chris Hughton Joe Kinnear  Alan Shearer Chris HughtonAlan Pardew

Nigel Pearson took over until we got "Fat Sam", and the former Boro coach was back in the seat when Allardyce left.

The Messiah returned, and all looked settled, but Ashley put the mockers on that and KK walked the walk.

Chris Hughton kept things warm until we were handed former Womble Joe Kinnear.

Uncertainty, a dodgy ticker, ranting and raving, Joe found the job too much, and ended up in an ambulance.

The GOALden Boy was drafted in (for eight games) to save us from the drop, but what miracles he could do on the field - he could not repeat off it.

Hughton was given the job full-time.

The rest, I'm sure you know.
