Pardew Wouldn't Sell Simpson To Wigan!

03 February 2013 03:00
Danny Simpson's proposed move to Wigan Athletic broke down at the 11th hour because Alan Pardew would not sell him to a team fighting Newcastle to avoid relegation.

Newcastle United rejected a £850,000 bid for the defender.

Simpson will now leave the club in the summer when his contract expires.

He has recovered from the broken toe he suffered in December’s 7-3 defeat to Arsenal, and is working his way back to full fitness.

However, the 26-year-old will be fighting new signing Mathieu Debuchy for the right-back spot.
