Such has been the tension, Ba was rumoured to be looking elsewhere to re-start his career.
But Alan Pardew says Ba WILL get his position back.
Although we can see the manager is coming from here - because he could be stalling for time - so the infamous clause in Ba's contract expires.
Alan Pardew: "Demba wants to play in a central role. He wants to get himself chances to score goals.
"And I think that in 90 per cent of the games next year that's where he will play."
