Pardew: 'We Were Embarrassed - So We Embarrassed Them'

Alan Pardew saw his team come back from a four-goal deficit against Arsenal. Alan Pardew: “The second half showed what a force we can be at this club when you put people under pressure, get tight, and get 51,000 Geordies back on your side. “It was an unbelievable day, and I thank the fans for staying with us, and most importantly I thank the players for their character and a performance that showed they were lions out there. “We made a call at half-time. “You either sit there and protect the four, and don’t get embarrassed, or you say ‘you know what, we’re going to play the game properly and see what happens’. “We said ‘let’s put them under pressure and kicked down the end we like kicking, and let’s go and show what we’re about’. “And my God, we did that, and more. It feels like a 4-0 victory, and a special, special day, yet we haven’t won.”
