Pardew - 'We Lacked Punch' (We Lacked Judy Too!)

United have lacked the "punch" to knock out teams in recent weeks, according to manager Alan Pardew.

And with Kevin Nolan scoring a hat-trick yesterday, it shows how much we are missing goals from midfield players.

Not having scored from a corner in over two years - and over 330 attempts - we are lacking goals from defenders too!

Alan Pardew: “Really and truly, it was a shame we didn’t have a bit more punch from the bench in terms of a Shola (Ameobi) or a (Moussa) Sissoko, but that’s the story of our season.

“We’ve had players missing in every game. In the first half, we were terrific.

“We played with a lot more composure, but we needed to score. We needed that first goal.

“They had one good little spell after half time and got a goal.

“It was always going to be difficult, but we gave a great account of ourselves.”
