But - according to reports today - manager Alan Pardew will remain as the club's "public face when addressing supporters" ... so says "director of football" Joe Kinnear.
Kinnear, 66, a former Newcastle manager, was appointed last week, sparking speculation over Pardew's future.
Kinnear, who will consult with Pardew and chief scout Graham Carr on transfers, told the Evening Chronicle: "The public face when addressing the supporters via the media will be Alan Pardew."
The paper reported that St James' Park coaches Steve Stone and John Carver, considered integral members of Pardew's staff, would be staying.
