Pardew Suggests Williamson's Injury Is In His Head
Newcastle suffered an injury blow before half-time against Scunthorpe when Mike Williamson limped off with a leg injury. Mike Williamson Pardew suggested Williamson didn't know if the injury was his knee or his foot, and questioned his performance, which he described as "rusty". Alan Pardew: "I'm not sure what his injury is at the moment because he claimed it was his knee, but he's now wearing a (protective) boot. "It sums up the start of the campaign for him. He's had injuries and a bitty pre-season. "He played 20 minutes looked rusty and then got injured. "It's now just going to be about getting some work into him now and getting him right physically and mentally."
