Alan Pardew was put on the spot in January when he insisted that Andy Carroll "was certain to stay at Newcastle", but Mike Ashley took the cash. The Jose Enrique rumours haven't helped - what with Pardew saying the Spaniard is staying, then Phil Thompson saying "Enrique deal to Liverpool has been done". But the Toon boss says he is happy with life on Tyneside. Alan Pardew: "My appetite was whetted way before that draw with Manchester United, but the more and more I take games in and get to know the place and understand how it works, the more familiar I am becoming with it and the more natural the surroundings are becoming to me. "I am obviously very proud to be the Newcastle manager and I enjoy it immensely."
