Pardew Rubs Salt Into Ranger's Wound

01 August 2011 15:20
Although Nile Ranger was officially blocked from entering the States because of his police record, we hear today Alan Pardew was not going to take him on the trip anyway. And as first team members headed for Leeds on Saturday for the pre-season friendly at Elland Road to be played the following day ... poor Nile was banished to play with Youth team players at Spennymoor. His fall-out with Pardew dropped to a new low, as the Toon boss was allegedly unhappy that the striker snubbed a move to Blackpool when both clubs had agreed a price. Ranger was the star attraction at Spennymoor and produced two goals to hand a Newcastle United XI a 4-2 win, but he was the only player with any true Premiership pedigree. UNITED: Soderberg, Nzuzi, Moyo, McDermott (McGorrigan 76), J Henderson, Richardson, Inman, Donaldson, Ranger, Abeid (Edmundsson 70), Airey.
