Pardew Now Blames Krul Injury As Turning Point!

15 April 2013 11:27
Alan Pardew has issued an apology for Newcastle United's worst Tyne-Wear defeat in 34 years.

Alan Pardew: “The only thing I can do is apologise in terms of us as a group.

“That was the last result we wanted to give them after the support they’ve given us.

“Sometimes you can’t match the opposition. We couldn’t do that. We physically couldn’t do that.

“Maybe if Tim (Krul) hadn’t got injured at that crucial point, it could have been 1-1, and we could have had an extra sub with extra energy.

“We could have brought on an extra offensive or defensive player. Or whatever we needed.

“That got taken away. It was a game that really didn’t work out for us.

“We will have to wear it, probably next year as well.

“That’s what happens when you lose one of these games.

“We are under no illusions as to the responsibility we have to our fans.

“We’ve let them down – 100 per cent.”
