Pardew may remove Tiote from fray

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will consider leaving midfielder Cheick Tiote out of the club's final two games of the season to avoid risking him missing the start of the new campaign. The Ivory Coast international picked up a record-equalling 14th booking in Saturday's 2-1 Barclays Premier League victory over Birmingham, and one more would cost him a three-game ban. He has already missed six matches through suspension this season, one for his first five cautions, two more for reaching 10 and an additional three for his red card in the FA Cup third-round defeat at Stevenage. With the Magpies now mathematically assured of their place in the top flight, Pardew will think long and hard about whether or not to involve Tiote at Chelsea next weekend and then against West Brom in the club's closing day fixture. The manager said: "I am going to have to give that some real thought over Chelsea and West Brom, I really am."
