Pardew: 'I Feel For The Toon Fans'!

19 December 2010 11:27
Alan Pardew felt sorry for the foot soldiers of the Toon Army who had a wasted journey after their trip to St Andrews ... only for the game to be called off because of the big freeze. Alan Pardew: “Naturally we were extremely disappointed that we couldn’t play today, but it was something completely out of our hands, and the decision to postpone the game was inevitable given the atrocious conditions. “Last night when we arrived in Birmingham things appeared fine, and even first thing this morning we were expecting to play the game. But then the snow came and nature won the day. “We had enjoyed a good week of training and, coming on the back of the performance last Saturday, we were eager to get on the field and play. “It wasn’t to be, though, and now we turn our attention to the visit of Manchester City. “I particularly feel for our supporters who travelled to the game, who faced horrendous weather conditions on the way to Birmingham, only to find they’d had a wasted journey. It’s the fans we all feel sorry for and I just hope everybody manages to get home safely.”
