Pardew Gives Too Much Respect To Liverpool!

Alan Pardew has said (serval times in the last month) that Liverpool FC are at the place his Newcastle United should be.

Obviously he was talking about the money the Reds have available for players, as opposed to Mike Ashley's plans to have an auction for Newcastle's star players in the summer.

But on the playing field we should consider ourselves - at least - on par with Kenny Dalglish's side.

Yes they struggled over the line to beat Championship no-hopers Cardiff City in the League Cup final on penalties; and they are in the FA Cup semi-finals (a position we would like to be in); but there is something about that club that continues to keep them outside the top four.

Despite spending more money than Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs in the last couple of years - in three words - they are simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Newcastle Utd have more chance of breaking the top four strangle-hold, because we look a team of players that look HAPPY and content with what we have.

The Reds looked nervous; rattled; and they shit their pants when QPR scored, what looked like, a consolation goal at Loftus Road last night.

Dalglish was left stunned after struggling QPR came from 2-0 down to beat his Liverpool team 3-2 with just minutes remaining.

The Reds had looked on course for victory after Sebastian Coates' superb scissor-kick and a Dirk Kuyt effort gave them a two-goal lead.

However, Shaun Derry started an unlikely comeback with a 77th-minute header and former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse levelled four minutes from time.

The unthinkable occurred in stoppage-time as substitute Jamie Mackie slotted past Jose Reina to make it 3-2 and secure the west Londoners an invaluable three points.

Dalglish: "I don't think anyone saw it coming.

"I don't have any answers. We dominated the game. We were really creatful, thoughtful and professional but they have walked away with three points."

That defeat was good news for Newcastle fans, as we push for fourth or fifth place.
