The Newcastle United manager has also been fined £20,000 for shoving referee's assistant Peter Kirkup during the 2-1 win over Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Today's Independent Regulatory Commission hearing dished out the punishment after he was charged following the incident on August 18, 2012.

The suspension will take place with immediate effect, meaning he sits out the games with Everton and Norwich City. The ban does not include Europa League fixtures, so he will be in the dug-out for the trip to Maritimo on September 20.
