Pardew Doesn't Expect Win In Brugges!

Newcastle currently top Group D and are yet to concede a single goal after a 0-0 draw with Maritimo in Madeira and home victories over Bordeaux and Brugge.

They could guarantee their progression to the knockout stages with a third win as long as Maritimo do not collect three points in Bordeaux.

However, Alan Pardew is taking nothing for granted, despite the fact that the Belgians parted company with manager Georges Leekens on Sunday.

Despite saying (prior to the game at Anfield) "I expect to win EVERY game as Newcastle manager" ... he doesn't seem very confident about tonight.

Alan Pardew: "I would be surprised if we secured qualification tomorrow. Winning here is a tough game for us.

"We will enter it to win it, but I think it will be tough. It would certainly be welcome because we have got some tough games coming up.

"But every game is a challenge for us and the guys are in really good spirits.

"We have had some unbelievably tough games - Everton away, Liverpool away, Chelsea away - so to come through where we are, I think we are in a good position."
