Pardew After Another Player He Has Never Seen Play!

21 July 2013 10:35
Alan Pardew has confirmed the Magpies are interested in signing unsettled Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis ... even though he has never been to France to see him play.

Pardew has admitted that he is looking to strengthen up front, and with Gomis seemingly looking for a way out of Lyon with just a single year remaining on his contract, the Newcastle boss has confirmed the French international is on his radar.

But, once again, we wonder who is pulling the strings at Newcastle?

This whole French Revolution thing is a major worry, because how many of these players did Pardew check out before signing?

It's bizarre, because Kevin Keegan had the balls to walk away when Ashley had Dennis Wise signing players he had only seen on YouTube!

Is this STILL going on?

Alan Pardew: "We have expressed an interest in Gomis.

"We think that he's a player who has great potential.

"He's a French international who's played at the highest level for his club and we're perusing it.

"The Lyon president has come out and said we are involved with Gomis - and I can confirm we are.

"Bafetimbi is a player we think could do very well for us. He is on our sights."

We held our NU-MAD poll last week and 906 of you voted to say what you felt about Alan Pardew.

The question was - Is Alan Pardew the man you want as Newcastle United manager?

YES: 278 votes

WE COULD DO BETTER: 628 votes

We would like to thank all of you who voted.

He was described to us at NU-MAD by West Ham fans as: "a manager who makes an instant impact; but when he starts putting his OWN team together - that's when you will get problems.

"He is not very good at making signings.

"He doesn't buy a particular player to fit into a system like Sir Alex Ferguson did, be buys players and tries to fit them into the team without much thought as to any system at all.

"He has to justify his buying, playing individuals out of position just to fit them in. And at times it becomes a mess.

"We notice at Newcastle he has scouts abroad who suggest players, and he brings them in, but how many times has he seen that player play?

"He basically gets what he's given and tries to make them adapt.

"A good manager gets the players HE wants - and Pardew doesn't always have faith in his own judgement - so he lets others choose.

"And that is why Joe Kinnear has been brought in, because Mike Ashley knows now Pardew hasn't got a good eye for a player.

"He was the same at West Ham. We couldn't wait to get him out."

WE TELL IT AS IT IS - NO BULLSHIT!
