Chris Hughton is confident Michael Owen can carry the weight on expectation placed upon him at Newcastle.[LNB] The Magpies find themselves firmly embroiled in a relegation battle with nine games of the 2008/09 campaign remaining.[LNB]While many will view the North East giants as 'too good to go down', no-one at St James' Park is buying into that mindset.[LNB]Interim boss Hughton is aware that there is much work to be done if the Magpies are to maintain their top flight status.[LNB]He is therefore delighted to have welcomed talismanic skipper Owen back into the fold, and believes the England man can help fire Newcastle to safety.[LNB]Fear"I think when you look at your big players anywhere there are always expectations," he said.[LNB]"I think Michael accepts that - he is a big player. It comes with the territory.[LNB]"This is the moment you look at your big players and your big players around the changing room.[LNB]"This is when you want players available, and one problem we have had is that we haven't had enough players available for enough of the season - I'm talking about regular first-team players.[LNB]"I think there is always going to be a certain amount of fear involved at this stage of the season. But you have got to be confident you have got good enough characters and enough quality to come through that, and I'm very confident that we have."[LNB]
