Swindon new boy Alan O'Brien believes his Premier League experience with Newcastle will serve him well as he prepares for life in League One. Winger O'Brien, who has five caps for the Republic of Ireland, came through the Toon Academy before making the breakthrough into the first team in 2006. Speaking to Swindon's official website, he said: "I got taken on by Newcastle when I was about 16. A few clubs were looking at me but they had a really good Academy director at the time and I thought he would improve me as a player. "I got a few chances with the first team and spent quite a bit of time with the first-team squad, being involved on the bench and in games. "I didn't feel there was much pressure on me at the time, you just go out and try to do well. I really enjoyed my whole time with Newcastle, but I am looking forward to doing my best here at Swindon."
