Obertan - Man Or Mouse?

Gabriel Obertan winger found himself relegated to the reserves last week ... and some fans can argue: "That's the best place for him".

But he hopes to play a part tonight at the Emirates Stadium, despite having the record of freezing on the big occasion.

The French winger scored a goal against Sunderland reserves on Thursday as Alan Pardew watched from the stands.

But I wouldn't have thought a goal in reserve team football constitutes a starting place at Arsenal.

He has a lot to prove to the supporters, who have not taken to his limp displays in hard-fought fixtures.

A lot was made of Alan Pardew's "French Connection" when they all signed ... but Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux don't seem up to scratch for the tough-tackling Premiership.

But he can argue "I can only show what I can do if I am in the team".

Is he worst the risk? Because he seriously IS a risk.

Obertan: “We are still pushing for the top four. Obviously it's going to be really hard for us.

“Arsenal had a good result against Milan in midweek even though they got knocked out of the Champions League, so we expect to face a team playing with confidence.

“We will go there hoping to get one point, but hopefully we can do even better and get all three.”

"I played in a more advanced central role on Thursday, and hopefully I did enough to be involved at Arsenal whether I get start or come off the bench, it would be nice to play a part.”
