Ex-Manchester City player Jamie Tandy escaped jail for a string of domestic violence offences after blaming his thuggery on a nightclub row five years ago with soccer bad boy Joey Barton. His solicitor Katherine Pierpoint: “The incident had a ­devastating effect on his life." She claimed the attack robbed him of his dreams and marked the start of a downfall that led to him being charged for a string of vicious drunken beatings on his live-in lover of six years, Bolton Crown Court heard. In one attack Tandy punched Sian Heron, breaking her nose and yelled: “Look what you made me do.” The father-of-two now cleans windows and plays for non-league Witton Albion. His girlfriend Ms Heron has left him. Tandy won £65,000 damages from Barton in December after claiming the cigar attack had caused him “major ­psychiatric deterioration”.
