According to reports in the Chronicle ... Fabio Capello has got assurances from Andy Carroll that his future is with the Three Lions ... NOT north of the border in Chilly Jockoland. The Chronicle: "Pearce has twice been to Newcastle to speak to the Toon’s top scorer in the last month in a bid to ward off interest from Scotland. "Firstly, he went to see Carroll in action in the final home game of the season against Ipswich Town. "Pearce spoke to him again on a recent visit to Newcastle to see the screening of the World Cup film One Night In Turin. "The response from England Under-21 international Carroll has been a positive one from a Three Lions point of view." Allegedly, Carroll is eligible to play for Scotland due to the fact he once had a haggis as a pet and likes short-bread biscuits with his tea.
