Newcastle turmoil pulled us together, says midfield star Danny Guthrie

Danny Guthrie says Newcastle's adversity has pulled players and fans together, but the match-winner from Monday's 1-0 win over Leicester has warned the Championship table-toppers need more recruits to maintain their promotion challenge. The former Liverpool midfielder said: `From day one we've said we can't do anything about what is happening upstairs and we have pulled close together as a group and that has shown on the pitch. `We have found strength in adversity and the fans have been brilliant. With all the turmoil I didn't think many would come and I didn't know how they would react but they have come in their thousands. It's definitely had a big impact on the players. `It seems a funny thing to say given everything that has happened but this is probably the happiest I've been at Newcastle. It's always a happy place when a football team is winning. Things have not been ideal, but the dressing room has a completely different atmosphere to last year. We've all pulled together and it's a good place to be. `The biggest worry we have is injuries and suspensions. The squad is too thin and it doesn't look like we are getting to get too many bodies in.'
