Newcastle striker arrested after nightclub incident

NEWCASTLE United striker Andy Carroll was arrested today, following a brawl at a nightclub.[LNB] The 20-year-old was allegedly involved in an incident inside Blu Blambu in Newcastle's Bigg Market in the early hours of the morning.[LNB] A man was taken to Newcastle General Hospital with head injuries, not described as life threatening. He was later discharged.[LNB] Carroll was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, questioned and released on bail pending further enquiries.[LNB] The footballer had been drinking with friends in the club's VIP area following the Magpies' 2-0 win against Watford at St James' Park, which saw Carroll appear as a second-half substitute.[LNB] A Newcastle United spokesman said there was no comment from the club.[LNB]
