Newcastle sink to new low with horror away kit

So, you've just been relegated from the Premier League, your best player is leaving for nothing, you've got no manager and the chairman who wants to sell up. Surely it can't get any worse? Well, unfortunately for Newcastle fans, it does. Much worse. The crisis club has dropped its latest clanger by unveiling their new away strip for next season - and it is terrible. No, worse than that - it's a crime against football. The custard-and-cream design - described as 'stylish' on the club's website - will have most Toon fans again reaching for the sick bucket after their rollercoaster ride of a season. It was modelled by defenders Steven Taylor and Habib Beye - two of just a handful of players expected to stay at St James' Park this summer - on its release this week. The club will hope that it will generate plenty of revenue as they attempt to rebuild but most Geordies, proud of their barcode home kit, wouldn't be seen dead in this number. There have been some shocking shirts down the years - Hull's Tiger-skin design immediately springs to mind - but Newcastle's is equally bad. No wonder Michael Owen can't wait to get out of there...
