Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is not expecting big changes this summer as theChampionship winners prepare to be back in the Barclays Premier League.

Hughton will have just £15m to spend and has been linked with players including Ipswich sensation Connor Whickham and Stromgodset striker Marcus Pedersen.

Target man: Newcastle have entered the race to sign £5m-rated Ipswich starlet Connor Wickham

The Newcastle boss believes the squad that were promoted in their first Championship season deserve a chance to perform in the top flight.

He said: 'I am realistic enough to know that it is also a very tough division.

Silver lining: Hughton only has one year left on his current Newcastle deal but he has guided them straight back to the Premier League

'My responsibility will be to assess where we need strengthening and where we need cover. I certainly don't anticipate a lot of players coming in.'

Hughton's contract is up in a year.
