With summer well & truly under way, it seems Newcastle are buying players, with three in the door already with the fans having not seen a permanent first team signing since January 2013. First the Toon snared Geordie boy Jack Colback to their club on a free with Sunderland admitting to being bitter about the deal after he ran down his contract, next there's young promising striker Ayoze Perez signed from Segunda side Tenerife, at almost 21, just at around £2m, he netted an impressive 16 league goals, whether or not he challenge to be a regular this remains to be seen. Fans are mostly excited about the signing of Siem De Jong from Ajax, an attacking midfielder for around £6m, he has been capped by Holland six times, although he missed out on the squad for the World Cup, De Jong scores goals and this could be a Cabaye replacement as Newcastle crave creativity, however the club are hopeful of getting Remy Cabella over the line, who they have been linked to for 6 months, who is another major target.
Ashley needs to keep spending, while the club are financially safe with no debt, surely he has to keep buying at least in this transfer window to maintain another top 10 finish & remember the club have lost star players Cabaye & Remy in the last 6 months. Manager Alan Pardew needs another centre back as the defence looks like Bambi on ice at times, another right back if Debuchy does head to Arsenal, Micah Richards is a perfect replacement & he will be available, another winger, ideally left as Ben Arfa is hit & miss, someone with pace & creativity, why not a cheeky bid for Valbuena from Marseille, perfect as he can join in with the French revolution at the club, may be pricey but Newcastle need to buy, finally another striker is needed, someone who can score goals, if the club want to continue their tradition of buying from France then a purchase for either Vincent Aboubakar of Lorient or Wissam Ben Yedder of Toulouse, both netting 16 league goals last campaign and shouldn't break the bank. Newcastle need to buy or a fight with relegation is on the cards.
