Megson keen on Boro vacancy

Gary Megson has declared his interest in replacing Gordon Strachan as Middlesbrough manager. Strachan left the Riverside on Monday after a disappointing start to the campaign, with Steve Agnew being installed on a caretaker basis while chairman Steve Gibson searches for a successor. Megson, who has been out of work following his exit from Bolton last December, is keen on the role. "I'd be interested, I think a lot of people would be interested in that. It's a big club," he said in the Bolton News. "They're obviously not doing so well at the moment. I've taken a club very similar to that in West Brom, a club that's had a good past and not firing on all cylinders. "It's a job I would be interested in but I'm sure a lot of other good managers would be as well."
