Magpies held by battling Swans

Michel Vorm and the woodwork kept Newcastle at bay as Swansea picked up just their third away point of the Barclays Premier League season in a goalless draw.

The Swans keeper made a fine first-half save from Demba Ba, and saw both the striker and skipper Fabricio Coloccini hit a post as the Magpies threatened to run riot.

However, Alan Pardew's men could not make the pressure tell and they were mightily relieved when Scott Sinclair shot across the face of goal 16 minutes from time from one of the visitors' few chances.
