Magpies confirm Owen op
ewcastle have confirmed Michael Owen has undergone minor groin surgery.[LNB] Owen is currently recovering from the ankle injury he picked up in the defeat at Manchester City in January.[LNB]The 29-year-old has targeted a return to action in the trip to Hull on 14th March and Magpies caretaker boss Chris Hughton insists the groin operation will not affect the timescale for his return to the side.[LNB]"Michael Owen has gone through a period of rehab on an ankle injury that he had," said Hughton.[LNB]"He also had a minor - very minor - groin repair which came in line with the period of time he is out with his ankle.[LNB]"It certainly hasn't hindered or increased the period of time he is going to be out.[LNB]"We are hoping he will be training within a week and available for the Hull game."[LNB]
