Lovenkrands dreads relegation

Peter Lovenkrands has described the 'tense atmosphere' surrounding St James' Park as Newcastle battle to beat the drop. The Magpies were unable to boost their survival hopes on Sunday as they lost 3-0 to title challengers Liverpool at Anfield. They have just three more games to climb out of the relegation zone, with Hull City currently occupying the final safe position in the division. Lovenkrands admits that everyone at Newcastle is beginning to feel the strain but he has promised to keep fighting until the end of the season. "Of course there is a big pressure on us," the winger, whose contract expires at the end of the season, told Danish TV2. "The atmosphere is tense. We are battling for our survival so things aren't that merry. "People are not happy and partying, we are working really hard in training."
