Lovenkrands admits to nerves

Peter Lovenkrands has admitted that Newcastle are feeling the tension as their fate hangs in the balance.[LNB] The Magpies currently occupy a standing inside the Premier League relegation zone as they prepare for a crucial final day trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.[LNB]Alan Shearer knows three points in the Midlands are a must for his men, although even that may not be enough depending on results elsewhere.[LNB]With so much riding on a one-off fixture it comes as no surprise to learn that nerves have started to infiltrate the Newcastle squad, but Danish winger Lovenkrands remains optimistic regarding the club's chances of beating the drop.[LNB]"Of course people are a bit tense ahead of the weekend, when we will play one of the most important matches in the history of the club," he told TV2 Sporten.[LNB]"It's been nervous for a long time, that's natural when you are fighting for survival.[LNB]"I feel it would be a catastrophe for a big and fantastic club such as Newcastle to be relegated."[LNB]
