The Guardian are reporting that Newcastle United have been in contact with Marseille about a possible move for their 25-year-old striker Loic Remy.

Remy is valued at around 15million pounds but as he is into his final year of his contract at Marseille, Newcastle are reportedly attempting to negotiate for a better price.

Newcastle aren't the only Premier League team interested in the striker though as Arsenal and Tottenham have both shown an interest in Remy who made 42 appearances for Marseille last season, scoring 20 goals.

Alan Pardew has been busy trying to find new players for his squad and Remy is not the first player he has looked at.

Pardew is also looking to add French right-back Mathieu Debuchy, Twente FC centre back Douglas and Former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll to his squad.
