Liverpool Set For New Enrique Offer!

Liverpool owner John Henry has hinted Liverpool will forget Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge and up the tempo on their interest in Jose Enrique. Henry insists the club have no interest in signing players "of a certain age" and reassured fans over future arrivals. Liverpool have made one big-money signing already this summer with the arrival of 21-year-old midfielder Jordan Henderson from Sunderland, but 30-year-old Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge is now OFF their radar ... even though Kenny Dalglish has shown interest. Henry, though, has no plans to panic-buy and indicated that he was confident deals will be completed before the close of the transfer window. John Henry wrote on Twitter: "Speculation on players shouldn't include those of a certain age. "We are not going to be successful by merely filling short-term needs at LFC. "Everything in sports is overpriced now - especially the cost of winning. "But you make your choices based on a plan. "Some things happen early and some late. The important thing is that things happen. Sometimes what you avoid is important." Liverpool insist they will bring in a left-back before the start of the season and are expected to make a second bid for Enrique.
