According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are ready to offer Leon Best in exchange for Leeds' rising star Max Gradel in January. The newspaper claims Alan Pardew is "intent on adding to his attacking options to safeguard Barclays Premier League status, and is keen on the versatile Gradel, who has also attracted attention from Wigan". They also claim Leeds manager Simon Grayson is showning an interest in Best, so "Pardew is keen to strike a deal in the New Year". Pardew is also considering Southampton's Jason Puncheon. The winger, 24, is on loan at Millwall but that ends on Monday.
