The League One leaders produced stern opposition for Lee Clark's Terriers though, and goals fron Yann Kermorgant and Hogan Ephraim denied Huddersfield the chance of breaking Arsenal's run.
Chris Powell's Charlton side are now seven points clear at the top of the table as they remain yet to taste defeat at the Valley this season.
Huddersfield's tremendous unbeaten run has come to an end, but they remain third in the standings, just one point behind second-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
Clark was reflective after his side's defeat on Monday night, claiming that while the loss was a setback, the Terriers will not be dwelling on it.
Lee Clark: "We had a bad first half performance. We started quite well but there was no belief or urgency.
"In the second half, we tried to cause them a few more problems but the damage was already done.
"We had to be positive going into the game but we made bad decisions and our passing wasn't of the highest quality.
"We've had a setback, against one of our rivals but we have to kick on again and get our heads down."
