The midfielder is doubtful for Wednesday night’s Capital One Cup tie against Leeds United at St James’s Park.
Pardew revealed on the eve of the Hull game the France international had been “disciplined” for his refusal to play in the club’s first two league games ... but went short of saying the player had been fined.
Cabaye had made himself unavailable for selection in the wake of a bid from Arsenal, which was rejected by United.
The former Lille player apologised to supporters for his actions earlier this month, and pledged to rediscover the form of his first season at St James’s Park.
But what what happened to have him “disciplined" if he wasn't fined?
Cabaye is just one of a number of injury concerns, with Shola Ameobi and Steven Taylor also doubtful.
However, winger Jonas Gutierrez and defender Massadio Haidara are close to their comebacks from injury.
