Late test for Brunt

Chris Brunt faces a late fitness test ahead of West Brom`s Championship opener against Newcastle. Brunt, Albion's top scorer last season, suffered a thigh injury in training two days ago and did not take part in training on Thursday. However, head coach Roberto Di Matteo is hopeful both Brunt and Slovenia skipper Robert Koren will be ready for the clash. He told the club's official website: "Chris got a knock on his thigh on Wednesday and didn't train so we'll have to see how he comes through. It shouldn't be a major problem. "We are hoping he will come through training but if that's not the case we will have to see how it goes." Albion will be without injured quartet James Morrison, Ishmael Miller, Neil Clement and Roman Bednar.
