Krul Back To Form But Toon Defence Folds Again!

Shocking defending AGAIN from Davide Santon gifted Everton a winning goal ... but Tim Krul was back to fine form.

Alan Pardew says Krul will come back stronger from Newcastle’s catastrophic Christmas collapse.

Krul built on a solid 2011 to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers last year but ended it by shipping 11 goals in two games.

The Holland international was not at fault for any of them but he was certainly on form against Everton, with three world class saves.

Alan Pardew: “It’s fair to say it’s been tough for him. He is a young goalkeeper.

“It has been good experience for him in a kind of positive-negative way.

“You are going to have periods like that unless you are at a really big club like Manchester United.

“You are going to get the days when you concede.

“I remember Arsenal conceding eight at Man United, so I think young goalkeepers do get it in their careers and you have to be able to put it behind you.

“I have looked at him and Tim looks fine.

“Confidence is not really an issue with him."
