Kinnear puts contract talk on hold to focus on keeping Newcastle up

It's good to talk: But Kinnear will bide his time[LNB] Joe Kinnear has refused to talk about his future at Newcastle [LNB]while the club is involved in a relegation battle.[LNB]Kinnear was placed in temporary charge at St James' Park last September and despite his failure to climb the Premier League table, the 62-year-old insists he has been offered a long-term deal.[LNB]But the Magpies are just one point above the drop zone and Kinnear insists maintaining the club's top-flight status is his priority.[LNB]'We've agreed the contract, and it's there on the table, and we've had a meeting about the future of the club,' Kinnear told Newcastle's official website. [LNB]'But we came to the conclusion that the best decision to make was to get round the table again at the end of the season. [LNB]'We've talked about what's the best way to take Newcastle forward. I've had a fantastic offer, but we shook hands on it and said we'd address it at the end of the season. [LNB]'It's all about survival.
