Kinnear eyes Spurs return

Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is hoping he will be back in the dugout for next month's game against Tottenham Hotspur. Kinnear is currently recuperating after undergoing a triple heart bypass operation last month after complaining of feeling unwell before the match at West Bromwich Albion. Chris Hughton is in caretaker charge, along with Colin Calderwood, as the Magpies look to preserve their Premier League status. But the experienced Kinnear is likely to be back at the helm before the end of the season after making good progress following his surgery. Feeling good Reports had suggested that the former Wimbledon boss had targeted a return for the crucial clash with relegation rivals Stoke City on 11th April. However, Kinnear is eyeing the trip to White Hart Lane to tackle Spurs a week later for when he picks up the Newcastle reins again. "I am feeling really good and am desperate to get back," Kinnear told the Sunday Mirror. "I'm hoping I will return for the Spurs game."
