Keeper hails Hughton

Long-serving goalkeeper Steve Harper has hailed the impact caretaker boss Chris Hughton and his backroom team have had on Newcastle`s excellent start to the season. The Magpies began life in the Championship in turmoil following relegation from the Barclays Premier League with the club still up for sale and without a permanent manager being installed. But Hughton, along with Colin Calderwood and Paul Barron, have guided the club to four successive wins following an opening-day draw at West Brom which has left them top of the table. Harper told the club`s official website: "Chris, Colin and Paul Barron have all stepped up and done a fantastic job. They`ve got the respect of everyone in that dressing room and that shows on the pitch. "Everyone has got each other's backs and we're in this together."
