Things are looking up: Toon midfielder Barton[LNB]Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton is determined to prove his worth back in the Barclays Premier League.   [LNB]The 27-year-old's three years on Tyneside to date have proved difficult as injuries and his infamous spell behind bars have prevented him from showing the kind of form which once earned him an England call-up.   [LNB]By his own admission, Barton has played only a bit-part in this season's triumphant surge to the Coca-Cola Championship title with a foot problem sidelining him for much of the campaign.   [LNB]However, he started the 2-0 victory at Plymouth on Monday night which saw the Magpies clinch the title, and is desperate to return to his best in a black and white shirt amid speculation that he could be offloaded during the summer.   [LNB]Barton told The Journal: 'I am not going anywhere. I love everything about this football club, every player here.   [LNB]'I would be hard pushed to find a group of lads like it, a group of lads that I would want to have a go with. This is them.   [LNB]'I have had a lot of chances here - it's been said before - but I just want to prove it by getting out there and playing football now.   [LNB]'Obviously, injuries have hindered that a bit, but it's part and parcel of the game.   [LNB]'I am humbled to be part of this achievement and humbled to be part of everything that is going to happen to this football club in the very near future.'[LNB] NORTHERN EXPOSURE: Newcastle pride restored as title party beginsHughton safe!
